Bears in the Valley
is an event organized by the Mount Snow Valley Chamber of
Commerce

in the Valley website:
This spring, the bears will come out of hibernation early,
- and we want part of the action! Bears in the Valley will
bring activity, art, fun and visitors to the valley from Memorial
Day to Columbus Day of 2007. During this event we will place
38 life-size painted bears all along routes 9 and 100 in Wilmington
and Dover, the historic Deerfield Valley. The event kicks
off with a coming out of hibernation party at the Sitzmark
in Wilmington on May 26th. The bears will be displayed all
summer in the Mount Snow Valley.
Then -Good-bye to the Bears. Columbus Day weekend will be
the bears grand send off! An Auction gala event will be held
where sponsors may buy back the bears OR let them go to the
auction block, with bidding starting at $2000.00. Proceeds
from the Oktoberfest Gala Auction of the Bears will benefit
local charities, art education programs in local schools,
fund future chamber programs, marketing, and events.
Keep an eye on their
website as they will be adding new photos and news as
it becomes available. They plan to put pictures of all the
bears up here after the grand unveiling at the coming out
of hibernation party.
